Two new big camping tents added to Robens Outback range

BUILDING on its popular Klondike bell tent, two new Robens Outback models have been unveiled offering some retro looks with modern performance.

Sleeping six and ten respectively, the Settler Field and Settler Sky are, say Robens’ designers, inspired by the pioneers who laid down roots to build a new life in the American west.

The Settlers are designed as a camping “base from which to soak in huge vistas and big skies, to appreciate the surrounding nature from the comfort of your country homestead”.

Huge tinted windows and large mesh side panels create the panoramic effect in the Settler Field, with views enhanced by the extra wide A-frame door design featuring three vertical zips that offer versatile access and ventilation options.

The same door design is shared in the Settler Sky, which also features large roof-located sky view tinted windows to enhance the indoor atmosphere, light intake and views out.

The fabric is made of HydroTex Polycotton – tough easy-care synthetic fibres with cotton’s high water resistance while allowing water vapour to escape. The resulting microclimate minimises condensation and stabilises temperature extremes. Polycotton’s insulation and breathability, coupled with large vents, including the apex vent that can be controlled from inside the tent, are ideal for warmer climates but can also meet more challenging conditions.

A strength-to-weight ratio comes from the use of aluminium alloy for centre poles and porch A-frame. Stringent in-house wind and rain testing ensure correctly pitched tents will deal with in-the-field conditions met throughout the year.

The addition of a stove pipe port and a zip-flap groundsheet allow the use of an optional Robens wood burning tent stove.

Other options include carpet, footprint, darkened and anti-mosquito mesh inner tents, hanging organizer pockets and a selection of tarps to increase sheltered outside living space.

RRP:

Settler Field – £1,299.99;

Settler Sky – £1,599.99
