SALOMON has introduced a new repair service in the UK, giving customers a straightforward way to fix damaged clothing and bags rather than replace them.
The programme covers a range of the brand’s technical products and is part of a wider industry shift toward extending the lifespan of outdoor gear.
The new service can be accessed through an online platform where customers submit a repair request, receive a shipping label, and send their item to a dedicated repair hub. Turnaround time is estimated at seven to ten days. Customers pay for the repair itself, while Salomon covers shipping costs.
Salomon has partnered with United Repair Centre (URC) to carry out the work. URC specialises in repairing outdoor and lifestyle products, including items made with waterproof membranes and complex technical fabrics.
Salomon says the initiative is intended to keep more products in use for longer. Studies cited by the brand suggest that extending the life of clothing by nine months can reduce its environmental impact by up to 30%, while repairing a waterproof jacket instead of replacing it could save more than 45kg of CO₂e.
