Rescue teams discover bodies in search for father and son missing in Glencoe

POLICE Scotland say two bodies have been recovered during search efforts for a father and son who went missing while hiking around Glencoe in the Highlands.

Tom Parry, 49, and his 12-year-old son Richie failed to return to their home in Cheshire as planned on Wednesday evening after setting out from the Three Sisters car park on Tuesday.

Officers said formal identification of the recovered bodies should be made later today.

“Our thoughts are with all those involved,” said Insp Craig Johnstone.

“I would like to thank all emergency services and mountain rescue volunteers.”

Search efforts began yesterday evening around Glen Nevis and Glencoe involving several mountain rescue teams and a HM Coastguard helicopter.
